Set in beautiful Florence, Italy, in the 1950s, The Light in the Piazza is the story of love both young and old. A naïve American girl named Clara meets Fabrizio, an unassuming Italian boy. As their love blossoms, Clara and her mother, Margaret, are whisked into what feels like a storybook Tuscan romance of high feeling and raw emotion—but there’s a secret that could spoil everything. In the process, Clara and Margaret come to a new understanding of life, love, and letting go.
